On the 4 weekends from July 31^st to August 23^th

outdoor shows in the scenery of the Visconti-Venetian Fortress.

 

Four weekends dedicated to the great contemporary circus, full of magic and fun for childern and adults: Lonato in Festival does not give up on the traditional summer event which in past editions offered hundreds of contemporary circus shows, street artists, puppetry, music and ethnic groups and, despite the great problems related to the post pandemic, it staged its ninth edition in August, although in a necessarily revised and reduced form, but no less appealing. The frame remains the same, i.e. the Visconti-venetian Fortress in Lonato del Garda (in the province of Brescia), one of the most impressive fortresses in Northern Italy, from which you can enjoy an incomparable view of the Lake Garda.

 

A very evocative historical setting, which will host a contemporary circus festival during the 4 weekends from 31^st July to 23 ^th August, during which four of the most prestigious Italian companies will perform outdoors: from 31^st July to 2^nd August the company Ne a Ne with the Incident show, from 7^th to 9^th August Circo El Grito with the new Malamat production, from 14^th to 16^th August Side Kunst Cirque with the Domoi show and from 21^st to 23^rd August Circo Zoé with Naufragata. Each company will be the protagonist of a weekend and its show will be repeated from Friday to Sunday, at 9.00 pm.

 

Taking into account the due limitations by the health protocols and to fully respect the spacing regulations, this year there will be a single location, instead of the many distributed in different corners of the Fortress as the past years: a spacious grandstand outdoors, equipped according to Covid-19 requirements, with a maximum capacity of 200 people. Naufragata
Naufragata is an original, striking, captivating and poetic circus show by the author, in which circus and music create a timeless world where "cast away". On the shores of the Mediterranean the wind blows, inflates the sails of vessels loaded with imagination and poetry. The scents merge, like the echoes of distant sounds.
Following the waves of creativity, Circo Zoé invites you to be part of an unprecedented journey, to the rhythm of the drums that mark the movements, on the notes of the accordion that accompanies the evolution of the crew. The corsair journey is more than a metaphor for this show, it is the subtle but profound line of conjunction that has always associated the itinerancy of a circus company with the voyage of a vessel or a pirate ship at sea. So, the need is to tell the impossibility of arriving, and every time instead of landing and getting off, we start again but stay alive ... Circo Zoé is a collective made up of circus artists, musicians, technicians, builders, administrators, tailors, friends, families, loves, children, philosophers, revolutionaries, pirates, with the common need to build a nomadic adventure bearer of craftsmanship, manual and concrete and poetic knowledge, but with the gaze always turned beyond the horizon.
